The Baddest Bad Beat At FullTilt Ever
July 17th, 2010Ok so normally I would be cracking an egg of knowledge on you by breaking down one of the Best USA Casinos, whether it be a full review or the latest bonus to hit the web but today I want to talk about one of the worst bad beats you will ever hear about, and that is mainly because it was two of them on back to back.
Okay so I was playing at FullTilt on Thursday when I was subjected to the worst three minutes of poker I have ever played. Now don’t get me wrong Fulltilt is one of the better USA Online Poker Rooms but last night I had no kind words for them. I was in the top twenty in chips of in a somewhat expensive tourny with about 110 players left when the unspeakable happened.
I was dealt pocket AA on the button. There was a raise of three times the blind with all other players folding around to me so I do what I do and bump it two and a half times his bet. The asshole in the big blind smooth calls and the original raiser also smooth calls. the Flop comes up 5-A-9, the big blind checks as does the original raiser and I go all in having both of them covered and the nuts at that point. So the big blind calls off all his chips and the original raiser folds. The big blind turns over KK and I’m stoked thinking that I was going to be in the top ten in chips, but wouldn’t you know that the turn is a K and if you could guess it the river was also a K. to say I was devastated would be an understatement. now I’m middle of the pack and the next hand I’m dealt 6-7 of spades. I’m just to the left of the button and when the action gets to me there is four players that have limped in so I follow as does the big and small blinds so we have a seven handed pot. the Flop comes up 8-9-10 of spades and yes i flopped a straight flush. to make this short I will say that after a round of chunky betting and a blank on the turn card (2-d) I put in the rest of my chips in the pot when it got to me. I had two callers. one had the 4-5 of spades and was dead the other had KQ of spades. do I really need to tell you that the river card was the J of spades. I lost to a higher straight flush and just like that I was out of the tourney. Talk about a bad day at the table.
